About Andrew
Andrew has been building startups for over 25 years. His journey began in 1995 while earning his computer science degree when he founded Home Computing Connections.
After gaining experience there, Andrew co-founded Webz in 1997 and served as CTO for 3 years. Webz developed early web apps, ecommerce sites, and CMS platforms.
Seeing the potential of online rich text editing, Andrew co-founded Ephox in 1999 and was instrumental in designing EditLive - one of the first successful online editors.
As CEO, he led Ephox's pivot to the cloud through the development of Textbox.io and the strategic acquisition of TinyMCE. After rebranding as Tiny, Andrew secured venture financing from BRV and grew annual recurring revenue 12x between 2015-2022.
In 2022, Tiny was acquired for over 10x invested capital. Andrew then focused on advising startups and pursuing new projects.
With experience spanning engineering, product, strategy, growth, and successful exits, Andrew is passionate about advising founders on building, pivoting, funding, and selling SaaS companies.
He also serves on the UQ Changemaker Board and is an On Deck Fellow (ODS2).
Looking ahead, Andrew thinks about launching another startup. In the meantime, he is open to giving advice to SaaS founders.
